FUNNIEST fucking shit that comes with making Danny eleven years old when he had his accident in "late at night, when the nightingale sings" is the implication following, that everything that happened in the show did too. And I fully intend on (mostly) keeping it like that. There'll be some changes (of which I need to figure out) but for the most part??? Yeah relatively the same.

Like I FULLY intend on keeping Dark Danny occurring 6 months post accident. Do you know how fucking HILARIOUS that is??? That Dan got his ass kicked by a goddamn FIFTH-SIXTH GRADER?? I'd never show my face ever again. Homeboy spent the last ten years being a one-man mass extinction event, only to get his ass beat by a kid who hasn't even lost his last baby tooth. That's hysterical. I'm losing my mind just thinking about it.

AND PARIAH DARK TOO. Imagine being an eons old tyrant capable of dragging whole towns down into your dimension, and you get singehandedly shoved back into your coffin in less than 48 hours by a kid whose bedtime is still 8:30. You didn't even have the time to expand your army! You were still trying to take over the city the kid came from!

And he just!!! Shoves you back in!! Insane! This kid hasn't even been dead for a full year yet! He's still growing in his ghost fangs! And he just knocked you flat on your ass in an oversized mech suit. What the fuck! It's like looking down and seeing a four week old kitten meowing very indignantly at you and trying to bite your feet, except that kitten is also actually a black-footed cat and they have a 60% kill success rate, and oops! Now you're dead. You took too long laughing at the kitten trying to attack you that it clawed up your pant leg and ripped out your throat.

COULD I, realistically, span these episodes out over the course of 2.5 years prior to Danny's family dying?? Yes I could! Do I think it's hilarious (and horribly traumatizing, which makes it twice as fun) to shove all of this into the span of (roughly) a year instead?? Yes. Because the show has such a skewed timeline that I've always just assumed that at the end of the show, Danny was starting his sophomore year in high school. So fuck it, lets go for it!

The Sokovia Accords will force all enchanted people to register and be monitored by the government. Not only would the enchanted person's name be written down but most likely their power and how to restrain or weaken them if needed.

This means that a government person can easily take the list and sell it to individual people or force an enchanted person to do things for them. The list can also be leaked on purpose or by accident and a bunch of enchanted people would be put in danger by both the public and people who would like to use them.

This is a big problem for the Vigilantes who hide their identities to keep their families and loved ones safe. The civilians who have been minding their own business and probably don't have any experience fighting.

It's especially a problem for Danny, as he never had to keep his identity a secret from his ghost villains, he keeps his identity from the humans that could what to recreate his accident to gain power.

Okay but this is perfect for my headcannon that Danny could use his ice powers for healing! Like he lays his hand over a wound, takes a deep breath and calls on his ice core. His eyes go ice blue, the temperature of the room drops, and ice starts seeping out of his eyes and starts creeping over his face as he heals. The longer the healing session goes on the more of his face that gets covered by ice. The ice also creeps out of his hands and into the wound he’s trying to heal and slowly the ice knits the wound back together. He can even use it to bring someone back from the brink of death. When the wound is almost fully healed the ice starts creeping back into his hands and eyes. Once the ice is completely gone that means the wound is fully healed!!!

He doesn’t use the ice healing all that often. Only when it’s absolutely necessary and the person would most definitely die if he didn’t. The reason for this is that even using the ice healing for small injuries takes a lot of energy out of him and leaves him dizzy and nauseous. And the bigger injuries, like the life threatening kind, knock him out immediately afterwards. How long he’s unconscious for after a healing session depends on how bad the injury was and how long it took to heal it!

Hero EMT/Field Medic Danny Au

Like maybe due to all his scraps and bumps as Phantom, Danny ends up getting EMT and Field Medic training or starts studying to be one. Cause hey this will be helpful later he just knows it. Plus he could go into medical engineering (or what ever the field is called that invents medical devices) with hi Fenton Mad Scientist smarts and hyoerfocusing on healing others instead of hunting Ghosts.

A few decades or centuries down the line, Danny is now ghost king and retired from Phantom. His advisors believe he needs a vacation. And ooh look what Clockwork found- a universe with heroes. So off he goes to DC universe.

Except, his core is demanding he help some way..but there are so many heroes. Perhaps instead of being a hero, he could help the heroes.

Que Danny slapping on domino mask, tying his hair back, grabbing his old modified Fenton field medic uniform and the Patented Fenton Medical Bag (which is like the Mary Poppins bag but for medical supplies). And h doesn't even bother going Ghost. He can use his powers in human form but he does so sparingly- like lifting a building off a trapped hero or civilian, icing a wound to stop the bleeding until h can get them some where safe and duplicating himself to help in disaster relief. Suddenly there are reports of a mysterious masked meta field medic showing up at big villain battles or the aftermath of another invasion and running disaster relief and helping civilian and hero alike. Many young heroes tell their mentors of a masked medic who helped patch them up. So on ad so forth.

So if you’re been here long enough you’ll realize this as one of my first ever au and for some of my newer readers I’ll explain but before I do I just have to say Danny and Phantom are two very different people and now I can explain let’s go

After a few months after Danny being ‘Phantom’ Danny starts to feel… protective of himself???  Which is weird but ok it’s probably his imagination but over the course of a few weeks it gets weirder not bad weird but weird nonetheless like when he goes ghost it feels like he’s not really the one in control of his body and sometimes when the other ghosts get to rough with him he can hear a voice yell but not really being able to tell what its saying and Danny like Danny do is just kinda ignoring all this stuff because it feels nice..? Like being in a protective hug and knowing the person hugging you will kill for you if it makes you happy and all is well

and good until his parents see him transformed in to phantom they knock him out and bring him to their lab and after a few weeks jazz finds out what is happening ( Maddie and Jack told her that they had Danny go to something I didn’t really know what they would say ) And get him out of his restraints and turns on the portal or well try’s to because at that moment Maddie and Jack and a whole fight goes on well Danny is trying to get the portal working and Maddie unfortunately gets a good shot at Danny as he turns it on and causing him to get thrown in and it makes the portal ( that has enough energy to take out this universe ) and it does that exact thing it takes out Danny OG universe (✨ANGST✨ and not that Danny knows that right now ) considering Danny is knocked TF out again but this time it feels different like he unconsciously knows whatever is holding him will protect him with their whole core….

And Danny wakes up a few weeks later [ he really needs to stop passing out it’s starting to get annoying ] and looks around the room? Well it looks like a room it’s big and spacious it also looks a Greek temple bedroom with large marble pillars that indicate windows { you get the image} and now that Danny looks around he sees that his laying on a frankly to big bed and it has a large canopy with fabric as Danny looks around someone enters the room and leans against the wall and looks at Danny with a soft smile and as Danny looks in their direction he sees…Phantom but he looks different he���s wearing Greek style armor [and looking HOT in Danny’s eyes so he’s a blushing mess for a hot minute] and as he makes eye contact with Phantom it feels like he and Danny have known each other for as long as they’ve existed and a few shenanigans happen and would you look that that a couple who are deeply in love with each other.

And for what Danny and Phantom are they are the New Ancients of Love and Protection respectively {yes I’ve decided to change Danny to the Ancient of love}

And Now to what inspired this thing in the first place and that would be the God Games song it goes to hard anyway if you listened to it you can tell Athena has to convince the gods to let odysseus go and I thought “ what if I turned this into dc X dp and what tf is this??” Proceeds Down the rabbit hole that is pitch pearl and now you all have this word vomit I call a post and before I ramble even more let’s get to the DC part before this gets to long

Now for the DC part someone gets on the bad side of one of the Ancients and gets got and now the JL has to convince some of the Ancients you know like ( clockwork, frostbite, pandora etc) and of course Danny and phantom are there as the Aphrodite and ares part of the song. And that’s all I can think of the DC first the moment now on to the details of Danny and Phantom

Ghost Phobia: Danny Fenton

Just like in canon Danny’s the one who turned the ghost portal on, but instead of getting ghost powers all he got was the ghost sense. So in this au Danny is still human, and he’s terrified of ghosts thanks to growing up with his parents telling him how evil and cruel they are. Unfortunately Danny’s basically a “ghost magnet” as tucker puts it, and Sam theorizes it could have something to do with him turning on the portal

While he definitely wants nothing to do with ghost hunting Danny does take an interest in his parents inventions after it turns out ghosts are real. Danny’s smart and, without ghost hunting taking up his time, his grades show it. Turns out he’s got a knack for fixing his parents faulty and non lethal inventions, he’s mostly interested in the ones that keep ghosts away for obvious reasons

(the jason one is in reference to the fanon headcanon/au that Jason and Damian potentially knew each other and interacted while jason was in the league. I've thought about it before in context of this au, but haven't thought about it enough to feel inspired or motivated to make a post exploring the idea)

(diablito means, as you can guess, 'little devil'. while i'm neutral to latino jason, i think the nickname is cute as fuck and was danny's main nickname from Jason. i don't wanna touch that timeline so im not gonna decide how old they were when Jason was there.)

Skulker: i am the ghost zone's greatest hunter! i capture and hunt creatures both rare and dangerous. Danyal: a poacher?? you're a poacher?? you poach animals??Skulker:...i sense i've made a mistake of some kind.

anyways that was the day that Skulker cemented himself as Danny's no.1 opp, and still remains there to this day even if he and Vlad are both viciously fighting for second. Out of everyone in the the AP rogues gallery, Skulker will be the first to be thrown under the bus in terms of 'o shit here comes phantom fucking RUN'.

A BTAS style title card for the DP reboot/au that lives in my head rent free

if I were in charge of a DP animation reboot and I had an unlimited budget, I would make significant and meaningful style changes. The basic change: everything that happens in the 'human world' would be black and white, and only the ghosts would be in color.

I've been calling it the "Pleasantville AU" in my head, though it's really not an AU as much as a lore-relevant stylistic overhaul reboot.

Humans and everything in the human world is black and white; ghosts are full technicolor

Danny, as a halfa, is still mostly black and white, but his eyes are green and his skin is. Skin colored idk. (Also black sclera because it's cool shh this is my fantasy reboot au)

The more powerful a ghost is, the more colorful it is. Moreover, the most powerful ghosts are capable of changing their coloration to "hide" in the human realm

Humans can't see colors well, and most recording equipment can't "capture" the image of a ghost well. You need special equipment to see them clearly and special cameras to photograph them

Places where ghosts have had a prolonged presence or big impact start to "bleed" colors. If you get wounded by the ghost, you get splashed with color (will fade to white "if you take care of it")

The Guys In White find these colorful, ghost-touched areas and "clean"/bleach them

The longer Danny hides, the more his presence in Amity Park starts to affect things

I didn't love the "Sam is responsible for Danny getting ghost powers" storyline in the OG, so in the reboot Danny was alone when he had his accident and he didn't tell anyone. He thinks he's a straight up ghost/is becoming a ghost and will eventually become evil (in this au becoming a ghost is thought to be a long term process a la vampirism. This isn't actually the case but I love "bad scientist Fentons" so that's their prevailing theory)

(He'll tell them eventually but I love identity shenanigans so I think it's more interesting if he hides it from them for a bit while also interacting with them as Phantom on occasion)

Oh yeah, because Phantom is mostly black and white, he's the first ghost that a lot of people are able to see.

His coloration is the driving force for the Fentons to declare him "the worst ghost", because they accuse him of trying to pretend to be human.

His coloration is a big reason why other ghosts dislike/distrust him, too, because he looks too human

The Vlad is a halfa reveal happens way later and way differently in this reboot; Danny meets him and knows he's "ecto-touched", but the Vlad = Plasmius moment would have more impact if Danny has had interactions with Vlad before, imo. Anyway I have Plans(TM) for Vlad but I'll leave it at that for now😏

Danny found himself staring at a map. The first one of Gotham he had seen since arriving. Which was a bit concerning since he had already been there for more than a month.

It belonged to Martin who was sitting beside him on the bench. The man had gladly offered to show it to him when Danny asked where he could get one. 

At that moment Martin was pointing out the different areas. 

"-ich people live in this part. Fancy mansions and the like. They got old money," Martin said, pointing at one area labeled Bristol. "But don't worry about that, there's nothing to worry about there. What you do need to worry about is where we are." His finger moved and Danny's eyes followed. "We're right along the edges of Crime Alley which you already pointed out to Eric and then to the North is the Bowery. That part has a lot of the trouble you kept breaking up and folks like Dawson."

Danny screwed up his face at the reminder of Dawson. "Yeah, I didn't like him. Do others like him show up around here?"

Martin leaned back against the bench and sighed. "Depends on who's in charge. Some like Hood don't stand for messing with the kids or the likes of me. But in other areas, they're not as strict or caring. Then there are the Bats."

Danny nodded, remembering the bits he's heard about the Bat and Birds. When he asked Eric about one of the recent ones mentioned on the radio, Signal, the kid seemed more than glad to essentially give him a rundown of the whole operation. It was honestly impressive how much Eric had known and when Danny told him so, Eric seemed to preen before running off to the other kids who proceeded to look at him with a glint in their eyes. 

The next time he stopped a drunk from getting too close to Tick and Tack’s hideout, they had called him back to tell him about how a few cops were bound to come around if the rumors they heard were true. Oddly, they had looked hesitant to tell him the information but seemed to settle when he thanked them and said he'd keep an eye out for any cops. 

"The Bats don't really come here that often," Danny noted. 

Martin sighed and waved his hand dismissively. "They're caught up with bigger rouges and there hasn't been anything big enough to get any attention around here. East End always has trouble but mainly in Bowery and Crime Alley. And since you came along we’re not in li-"

Martin was cut off by something crashing into their bench from behind. The man cursed and Danny turned around to look at the ground where a kid just a bit taller than Eric was. He realized it was Tack from the metal nails that spilled out of the boy’s hand. Tack seemed unharmed and his eyes went straight to Danny's. 

"Have you ever went across someone's haunt without permission?" Tack asked quickly as if the words were trying to run off. 

"Um yeah," Danny responded hesitantly, still thrown off by Tack crashing into the bench. "Ended up fighting with them."

At his response Tack's eyes widened. "Didya win?"

"Yup!" Danny quipped back smiling. He still remembered the energetic thrum of his core when he first won a fight with a ghost after crossing their haunt on accident. It had been a good fight and a lesson in one. He avoided the mistake again but after the other ghosts learned that he just needed to be told the rules along with what was polite, the fights and spars became less anxiety-ridden and more fun. "I've been in a bit more scuffles since then, but those were more for fun. And they stopped causing trouble in my haunt."

Tack was about to ask another question when a yell broke out and they looked to see Tick standing not so far away. She was out of breath and her eyes filled with fury. 

"Oh shit," Tack muttered before he scrambled to get up and away. Tick quick at his heels. 

Danny watched the two of them go. He heard Tack’s laughter get more distant before he looked back at Martin who was watching him carefully. "You okay Martin?"

Martin hummed. "Just wondering what made you leave your last haunt."

“Ah,” Danny began to fold up Martin’s map to give back to him. He tried to speak lightly despite how the reason hurt so much.  “You know circumstances happen. Apparently, it was time to go.”

He thought back to Clockwork’s face where he found him. Yeah, he had been annoyed when CW first dropped him off, but honestly, he was much better off in Gotham with little kid shadows compared to wandering. At least here he actually had an inkling of a haunt whereas back at home there wasn’t anymore. He didn’t even think there was anyone anymore, not after what happened. Not after what they did. No-

“-ey kid.”

Danny’s head whipped in the direction of the sound and he found Martin crouching in front of him, their hands on his shoulders. He looked worried and Danny noticed the ache in his chest and how his hands shook. He could see how tense Martin was, even hearing how quickly the man’s heart was beating. 

He smiled apologetically. “Oh sorry about that Martin,” Danny said, getting up and guiding Martin to sit back down on the bench. Even setting the map on the man’s lap. “Didn’t mean to worry ya, but thanks for showing me the map. And be careful about tonight, I think there’s gonna be a rainstorm despite how clear it is right now. Make sure to tell the others.”

Danny walked away before Martin could stop him. He ignored the calls for him and kept walking.

That night, despite the weather reports of a clear evening, it poured and poured. Thunder and lightning filled the sky. There was some light flooding in some areas including the park. Martin and the others like Patty, and Joe were dry, having learned that Danny’s warnings were more accurate. 

But unlike other times when the mood was relatively light, the conversation seemed as somber as the rain outside. Martin had shared what he heard and learned about Danny with the others. 

Questions about where Bright Eyes had come from were muffled by thunder and answered by lightning.

The next week or so was predicted to be filled with storms. Apparently, there had been a sudden influx of storms spanning a few states. Reports were saying it may have been due to forces outside of Mother Nature. Not that it really mattered. People still had to deal with nonstop rain and flooding either way. 

Even at one particular manor, one butler was making sure that all household storm protocols were being followed. Along with keeping young masters from going outside where surely they would get sick or injured. Already, the biggest one sick despite his grunts that roughly translated to “I’m fine”. 

Despite the many attempts, this butler was successful in their endeavor. Unaware of a certain rouge looking at the storm as an opportunity.

The lightning strikes in the sky made Danny feel as though there was lightning dancing underneath his skin. Yet he still walked. Martin had managed to spread the word before the worse of the storm had come, but there were still a few stragglers. That and a few kids that didn’t manage to find a safe spot in time. 

Already he had led 12-year-old Zipper and Jimmy to the small apartment that Sandra and Eric lived in. Delivered some blankets made by Ms. Juni to where Gina and some other women were. Along with fixing the radio that broke the night before that Martin and the Joe were listening to. 

It had been pretty busy, to say the least, but Danny kept going. The rain and temperature wasn’t bothersome like it was for others. He walked the same route as he would have done in better weather while checking some of the nooks and crannies where one could hide. But so far, they were empty. He could feel that Lady Gotham was muffled by the weather, probably from trying to do damage control. He let himself send her his thanks and for a moment the rain went silent as it fell. He continued walking and the silence faded away. Danny made his way closer to the edges of the neighborhood. 

It was when he was nearing the haunt that was Crime Alley that he sensed something. Following the sensation, Danny found himself crouching at the mouth of an alley, a cat hiding under a dumpster looking back at him. 

“Hello Cookie,” he said quietly. “Ms. Juni has been very worried about you.”

At the name, Cookie meowed and Danny presented his hand for them to sniff. He smiled when the wet cat pressed its head against his hand. 

Slowly he scooped Cookie and pulled her to his chest. Cookie trembled but made no move to bite or scratch, Ms. Juni had said she was a rather sweet cat. He let her settle and try to leech off any warmth he still had, not bothering to get up just yet. 

“I’d appreciate it if you didn’t attack me,” Danny said. 

The sound of rain continued. Though there was a flash of lightning. 

In the alley Danny was at the opening of, there were a pair of eyes that reflected the flash. The following growl sounded joined the clap of thunder that followed.

Danny watched as out from the shadows a 7-foot figure emerged. Their body covered in scales rather than smooth skin. Clearly able fight and by the sharp teeth Danny could see, able to bite a man’s arms off if given the chance. 

Though the figure hadn’t moved. As intimidating as they were standing over him they didn’t even touch him. Their eyes watched him closely and Danny had the sense that they were waiting for some sort of reaction. 

Danny didn’t exactly have one to give them. 

Slowly Danny stood up, continuing despite the tension he saw build up in the stranger’s frame. But he kept petting Cookie in his arms and his kept his own body relaxed. He kept staring at the stranger. 

The longer he stared the less tense the stranger seemed.

Danny tilted his head slightly. 

The stranger mirrored him. 

“I suggest finding somewhere to hole up, the storm isn’t bound to end for a while,” Danny said as if he wasn’t soaking wet with a wet cat in his arms. “With that said, if you stay in this area I’d appreciate it if you didn’t mess with anyone.”

Rain continued to fall and those eyes continued to stare. 

“You’d get the same treatment too, of course.”

There was a grunt in response from the stranger.

 Danny gave a slight nod “Well then...I’ll be going. Take care.” 

With Cookie settled securely in his arms and wet clothes clinging to his skin, Danny walked away fully aware of the eyes still on his back. 

The storm continued.

Danny kept up his routine.

Ms. Juni had given him a small lunchbox with several sandwiches made for him as thanks for returning Cookie to her. Old Man Elijah gave him a black raincoat after the third time Danny checked up on him soaking wet. He didn’t believe Danny when he said he was fine. 

Danny had to admit it was more comfortable even if the coat was a bit big on him. 

The other folks he checked up on seemed to nod in approval when he checked on them with the new coat. It was the kids that snickered at how it hung off him. 

“It covers your knees!” Jimmy had wheezed out through his laughter while Zipper tried to hide the fact that they were laughing too. 

Danny simply sighed before throwing the blanket Ms. Juni had given him the mission of handing out at Zipper’s head. “Less of a chance of someone stealing my kneecaps then. It's a preventative measure.”

Sandra suddenly appeared with a mug of something warm and a smile. She offered it to Danny. “More like Old Man Elijah is a giant compared to you,” she said. “Maybe we should call you Twig instead.”

Eric was crashing into his sister right after Danny grabbed the cup. “No! Bright Eyes is so much cooler than Twig and he’ll grow right?”

Danny took a sip, enjoying the taste of lemon in the tea and the warmth it left behind. “Ancients I hope not, what would happen to my kneecaps then when they’re exposed?”

“No one’s gonna steal them,” Eric said like it was the most obvious thing (and he was right). “You’d fight them off.”

“True,” Danny agreed and let himself take a few more sips of the tea before heading out again. “I’m rather protective of my body parts. Not fun to have them taken and it’s just plain rude.”

Jimmy narrowed his eyes at Danny. “When is it polite to take someone’s body parts?”’

“Never really.” Danny shrugged handing back the cup to Sandra with a nod of thanks. “But sometimes things get weird. If you find yourself in that sort of situation, please come get me.”

“Sure thing, Boss,” Zipper said and Danny was too busy with his mental checklist to do to comment on the new nickname.

Instead, Danny let himself look over the occupants of the room. Taking note of how Sandra’s bruise seemed to be much better than before and how the kids didn’t seem all too worried about the storm outside.  He nodded to himself. “Alright, I’m going then. Stay inside and stay warm. I know this building apparently has some heating gimmicks. Ms. Juni let me know so I’ll probably stop by again later with another blanket from her, Ancients knows where she’s getting them.”

When Danny left the apartment Zipper let out a huff of amusement. “Do you think Red Hood ever worries about someone stealing his kneecaps?”

Sandra ruffled their hair. “Hood’s the one shooting them.”

“You don’t think Hood would shoot Bright Eye’s kneecaps right?” Jimmy asked. 

“Nah,” Eric said. “There’s no beef between ‘em and Tack said Bright Eyes been in scuffles before, he probably knows how to keep his knees unshot.”

“True, but maybe later we should ask how to make sure no one steals our kneecaps. Just to be safe.”

The kids nodded in agreement while Sandra smiled in the kitchen and began to make herself a cup of tea.

Danny continued his check-up with and heard a few more snickers from the kids. Even teasing from the working girls. Eventually, he found himself walking the empty streets checking on the nooks and crannies again, getting nearer to the edge. 

It was there that he sensed something inside one of the condemned buildings. No one was usually there because of how often things fell inside, but that didn’t prove to be a threat to Danny. He made his way slightly inside but stopped when he felt the eyes on him again. Though this time the stranger decided to remain in the shadows, not that Danny didn’t know where they were. 

“Nice spot, no one comes here considering the safety hazard. Storm’s still going on but the flooding doesn't seem like it’ll get worse,” Danny said, knowing he wouldn’t get a response. “Anyways” - Danny took out one of the sandwiches he had stowed away in the raincoat - “Ms.Juni made some sandwiches when I returned her cat, Cookie who you met. Thought I’d give you your share considering Cookie was in the alley with you and you didn’t kill either of us. Pretty sure she wouldn't give us a sandwich for a dead cat”

Danny placed the tinfoil-wrapped package on a piece of rubble. “Supposed to be chicken salad.”

With that, Danny made his way out of the building. The whole time not bothering to look back at the stranger who followed until he reached the outside. As Danny walked down the street, he wondered if the stranger thought his too-big raincoat was funny like the kids did. 

Later, Danny took a bite of the sandwich and hoped that Ms.Juni wouldn’t mind giving him another one once he ate the others. 

After all, it was a pretty good sandwich. 

The next day Danny stopped by the condemned building and left another sandwich. Repeating the same thing the next day and the day after that. Along with dropping the tidbit that the storm was said to settle down by the next night. Though a cold front was coming in. Also that there was talk of the cops coming around for some reason 

When he stopped by Ms.Juni’s apartment he made sure to compliment her chicken salad sandwiches as she placed yet another blanket in his arms. This one was to go to Old Man Elijah himself.

When he delivered it the man seemed to inspect Danny before accepting the blanket. Then he proceeded to shove a hat in Danny’s hands before closing the door on him.

Outside, Danny was left looking at a dark blue knitted fisherman’s hat. 

Sandra laughed when she saw it on him while he still wore the raincoat with the hood up. 

“Sandra, you laugh at my confusion of old men,” Danny said as he accepted another cup of tea she was placing in his hands. 

Sandra waved him off. “You’re not alone in being confused by him.”

“Oh, so you also have clothes from him?”

“Nope!”

Danny groaned and sipped his tea. He ignored how Sandra looked too pleased and how the kids in the hallway tried to hide the fact that they were staring and giggling. 

This is Clockwork’s fault, he thought.

DP x DC Prompt - Accidental Crime Lord

Danny didn’t want to be a crime lord.

In fact, he didn’t even know how he became one.

One minute he was a starving immortal unemployed teenager, and the next he was running a relatively respectable “crime” empire.

If he had to blame someone or something, he would blame his bleeding heart (and his empty stomach)

It all started when Clockwork dumped Danny in this new dimension with nothing but the clothes on his back. He had managed to get back the first couple weeks but he knew his luck wouldn’t last. One night, when he was walking back to his crappy apartment (that had “illegal” written all over it), he heard a scream of terror and pain. When he ran to check it out, he saw some drunk jackass behaving in “ungentlemanly” ways. He knocked the guy on his ass and helped himself to some of the guy’s cash (hey, strong morals had no place to talk when rent was due). The jackass’s girlfriend invited him over for dinner as thanks. 

Well rumors spread, and SOMEHOW Danny became known as the guy who would “take care” of the more unsavory bunch of people in the neighbor for some cash or food. It later evolved to include information. And maybe a few “liberating” of some artifacts that definitely belong back in their home country.

Some of the older street kids joined in (and by the Ancients if these kids are joining in, Danny’s gonna make sure they are safe, be it with proper housing, equipment, money, and food)

Next thing Danny knows, he’s gotten his own “nickname”

DC x DP Idea Thing #2

Child of Freeze AU

MR. FREEZE WOULD BE SUCH A GOOD DAD, YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE.

When I first discovered the DC x DP crossover, specifically when the realization sank in that Danny had ice powers, my brain immediately went into overdrive about that and added "WHAT IF DAD!FREEZE" into the mix here.

It's only now my brain wanted to expand on it.

We have the usual trope here that Danny's parents reacted badly to learning about him being Fenton, causing him to get experimented on briefly before running and later settling in Gotham. Here, they found out he was Phantom when his ghost form's appearance started to bleed through to his human form.

His black hair kept gaining white strands every day, his skin gained a paler hue with a tinge of blue only seen in the dead and the ghosts, his body temperature dropped while his heart beats were slower. Hell, he had felt some of the more subtle changes. How his eyes were sore and couldn't see properly for a week before they got better, how his ears became irritated as they shifted to be slightly pointed, and even his limbs throbbed in pain for a while.

At first, his parents chalked it up as a result of being exposed to ectoplasm for most of his life, leading to them practicing lab safety for once in hopes that these changes were temporary.

It didn't take long for them to come up with the conclusion the Phantom replaced their son and used his appearance as a disguise. At least, Maddie came to that conclusion and went immediately to dissect him.

Jack couldn't stand seeing Danny getting opened up like that. Even if he's still conflicted about whether or not Danny is Phantom or Phantom replaced him, he couldn't get the image and the cries of his son in pain out of his head. He helped Danny escape while he distracts Maddie.

Danny ends up coming to Gotham after flying as fast as he could while injured. He ends up finding a frozen place underground and proceeds to pass out as his body tries to regenerate/heal itself. He didn't notice the body suspended in a capsule nearby, having been too tired and too drained.

That's how Mr. Freeze finds him. A teen, likely 16 at most, severely injured, and surprisingly, not bothered by the sub-zero temperatures of his hideout.

I'm all for the idea that before Nora's illness came into effect, she and Victor wanted to have children. The two always had a bit of a soft spot for them anyways. (During the winter season, Freeze doesn't try to cause much villainy as this is the only time of the year he can go around without his suit. Instead, he ends up helping decorate Gotham with some Ice Sculptures and tends to entertain the children of Gotham if possible.)

Essentially, paternal instincts took over and helped Danny get better. Will he be surprised at the exponential rate Danny's healing? Yes, but he just chalks it up to him being a meta. Mr. Freeze will notice some of the unnatural traits present in Danny after all, but who is he to judge? Plus, Metas had it hard in Gotham, even if the no meta rule loosened up when Signal came about in the Batfamily.

Mr. Freeze now has two people to fret and take care of.

(Just- Danny gets adopted by Mr. Freeze, and later on, so do Ellie and Jazz even though she is already over 18 and needs to wear thick clothes)

Wing AU 10.2.23

DP (x DC? up to you). Clockwork, Danny. Clockwork is Kronos.

I had a mental image of Clockwork wrapping Danny in a pair of giant wings in a hug/to protect him and it spiraled into this.

Flight is not unique to ghosts. All humans have wings, wether colourful or plain, small or large, for gliding or speed.

Clockwork was a god once, with wings far larger than any human. When the Observants bound him they bound his wings as well.

Danny has always thought the harness on his mentor’s back was pretty, all bronze gears and copper plating. He’d seen weirder things from ghost wings, Ember’s wings were made of the same fire as her hair.

He didn’t know it was a prison.

He cut him free as soon as he did.

Something about the flippant tone breaks something in Jazz. She whirls on Danny and he startles, blinking, as she closes the scant distance. It’s hot and bubbling, the feeling frothing up within her — it hurdles the good sense, has her grab his shoulders, fingers twisting up in the sleeves of his shirt. Ghosts aren’t real! she wants to scream, but it’s not what she wants to say.

These words don’t feel truthful sometimes. Rote, even, coming from himself. But Danny does love his parents. Of course he does. He wouldn’t say he’s ashamed of them, at least not anymore, but sometimes they’re just. A lot.

Everything is too much. Everything is on fire. The kitchen is burning — you can’t even boil water? Bruce blinks quickly, fluttering away tears. Danny is too close, yet not close enough, within arms reach and where he can’t get to. “Hey, look, I’m standing on my own two feet here,” Danny says grandly over the echoing hiss and pop, arms spreading much too wide. “Thank you.”
